An accusation was levelled against Elisha's brother Amos that he improperly disposed of the estate and he testified that was not true. But the estate inventory of a few carpenter's tools came to only L1 and 1 shilling, and was declared insolvent. The matter was wrapped up on 30 Jan 1787. Either this all pertains to another William Scott, or the 1771 death date looks questionable.

Known children of William Scott and Rachel Scott all b. Sunderland, Franklin, MA, were as follows:

Generation Five

10. Mehitable =Mahatible Allis (Zebediah, William, Samuel, William); b. 1749 Sunderland, Franklin, MA;97 b. 16 Sep 1749 Montague, Franklin, MA;98,99 she probably married Lt. Ebenezer Fisk, son of Daniel Fisk and Elizabeth Goddard, No hard evidence concerning the family of Mehitable Fisk has been located. She was most likely Mehitable Allis of Montague. There were literally no other unmarried Mehatabels born in Montague, and Mehatabel Allis appeared with this spelling variation, which was also used for Fisk's wife when recording their two children's births. The Allis Genealogy provides no record of Mahatabel beyond her birth. Old Deerfield and Montague records make it fairly clear that Ebenezer Fisk was from Deerfield, and that Zeb. Allis was well established in Montague. So the record of births and Eben's death appearing in the Montague records suggests that the spouse was indeed from Montague. Lt. Ebenezer died in 1779 when his kids were very young, and it was not until 1885 that his estate was administered. At that time, Mehitabel (sic) formally undertook the burden of guardianship of her two sons David and Nathan, still minors and designated as heirs. Her guardianship was 'co-signed' by none other than Moses Allis of Leyden, who was likely the brother of Mehatabel Allis, born in 1756 (seven years after her). There is a record of Mehitable Fisk, widow, taxed in Deerfield in 1788. There was a letter for Mehitable Fisk of Deerfield in the Greenfield PO on 10 JAN 1793. (Church file, PVMA)

The Deefield Tax ledgers confirm that Ebenezer left town after 1775 and Mehitable is first shown as a Widow in 1779. She is last on a tax roster in 1888.

The old tax ledgers of Deerfield show these Fisks, always among the poorest listed:

father's assistance to do vastly better than I have done with myself."

Son John gave David's birthplace as "unknown" in 1880 census and as "MA" in 1900 (when he was 84). Son David L. gave David's birthplace as "US" in 1880 census. Early Settlers in Manlius, Onondaga County, NY

Submitted by Sue Goodfellow, The Manlius Historical Society:

The first settlers came to Manlius in the late 1700's. Records show that several families settled in Eagle Village, just east of Manlius, prior to 1793. These families were farmers and found the rich soil and ample waterways, were ideal for farming and raising a family.

Most of these pioneer families stayed in the surrounding area, and either farmed, built and ran tanneries, were educators or many other types of businesses. Some of these early families were Stilwell, Callender, Jerome and Foster. They were mostly of English background, who came to America and originally settled in Gravesend, Long Island, today known as Coney Island. You will see streets named after these families there today. They then moved north through New England to Galaway, Saratoga County, after the Revolutionary war. This was a starting point to move west in 1810 Manlius, Onondaga, NY. 1810: On 16 May, David Fisk of Manlius purchased another part of the same lot from Giles Goodrich, Jr, for $700. The, on 24 Jul, David and Abigail Fisk his wife, of Manlius, sold the first parcel to Azubah Smith for $600.124 1811: On 20 Aug, David and Abigail his wife, of Eagle Village, town of Manlius, sold a small lot in Eagle Village (Manlius lot #88) located next to a law office for $100 to an S. Weed, possibly the doctor mentioned below. No record of having acquired it, but it was probably a doctor's office.125 1813: On 19 Mar, David Fisk and three partners (Nathan de Lamatter, Noah H. Phillips, Samuel Marsh), bought part of Manlius Lot # 97. This lot appears to have been a commercial lot since it contained a water easement for the Manlius Mfg. Co., presumably nearby. (Onondaga Deeds N:391). He was the grantee in a deed 1814: On 19 Oct, David and Abigail sold what appears to have been the remainder of the property acquired in 1810 (although it is referred to as in Manliuis Lot #97, not #98) for $700126 on 19 Oct 1814 Manlius, Onondaga, NY. Listed in the in 1820 Census in Manlius, Onondaga, NY (Census of 1820:Manlius, Onondaga, NY (090). 3m10-16,if16-26.

Cary Began educating boys in his home in what was then called Pleasant Hill in 1833, just after he had graduated from Miami in 1832. John Fisk must have been one of the earliest students. The school became known as the Cary Institute or the Pleasant Hill Academy. President Benjamin Harrison attended in 1838. It was organized into a formal college, known as Farmers' College, in 1847. The first catalog gives the list of students of the Academy back to 1845, in which there are no Fisks. However, Harrison Fisk appears in the minutes of the Pleasant Hill Literary Society on 19 Nov 1841 and subsequently through the year as "H. Fisk").164,165,166 On 24 Aug 1838, Harrison D. Fisk and John F. Fisk, both "of Campbell Co., KY" bought a large plot [in the Fiskburg area] from Austin and Mary Hightower [Hightower was from Virginia] for $700, described as being on Grassy Creek and Falmouth Road adjacent to David L. Fisk's land (Hightower is also shown on the 1883 Atlas.) The deed, Campbell N:362, was witnessed by David L. Fisk and Stephen Mullins. This is the only record of association between David L. Among his neighbors was Henry W. K. Cutter, father of Edward (Ned) Cutter, soon to be husband of Fisk's neice, Eliz. (Fisk) Cutter. Cutter lived at 6516 Harvard Ave).

Known children of Dr. Harrison Dearborn Fisk and Maria Edlam Goss were as follows:

17. John Flavel Fisk (David, Mehitable Allis, Zebediah, William, Samuel, William); b. 14 Dec 1815 Genesee County, NY (In the 1880 Census, he lists origin of both mother and

father as "unknown". From 1890 to 1895, the family summered on

Peak's Island off Portland, ME. In 1896, Genealogist Pierce

wrote the Gov. on Peaks Island ME telling him that he had "found"

his family line (the erroneous line to Dr. Ebenezer of Epping)

and asking him to put his photo in then genealogy for "only $10."

The Gov. was also corresponding with the editor of Lewisiana

(Carll Lewis), trying to establish details concerning the

relationship to Naomi Lewis. Apparently, John's father's untimely

death in 1829 occurred before anyone in the family really could

query him about his ancestry, and the Gov. failed to get many

questions answered);169,170,171 baptized 28 Mar 1841 Mt. Healthy Church, Pleasant Hill (now College Hill), Hamilton, Ohio;172 m. Elizabeth Sarah Johnson, daughter of Joseph Haynes Johnson and Sarah 'Sally' Wilson, 15 Oct 1842 home of Mrs. Fenton Lawson, Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH (ESJ says "while I was on a visit to Cincinnati to a lifelog friend...and classmate of Caroline's...Mr. Fisk came from KY and we were married at the house of this dear friend, Mrs. Fenton Lawson on 15th Oct. 1842, starting the same day to make for ourselves a home in Maysville, KY);173,174 d. 21 Feb 1902 at his home at 13 W. Eleventh St., Covington, Kenton, KY, at age 86;175,176 he was buried Fisk Mausoleum, Highland Cem., Ft. Mitchell, Kenton, KY, 24 Feb 1902.177

He and Dr. Harrison Dearborn Fisk graduated Cary's Academy, Pleasant Hill (now College Hill), Hamilton, OH, between 1835 and 1841 (Freeman G. Fisk").178,179,180 On 24 Aug 1838, Harrison D. Fisk and the brothers John F. and Harrison D. Fisk. (not found in an 1840 census, possibly being folded into Freeman Academy unnamed). He and Elizabeth Sarah Johnson moved to Maysville, Mason, KY, on 15 Oct 1842.181 Attorney, insurance agent and politician in 1848 Covington, Kenton, KY.182 Listed in the in 1850 Census in Covington, Kenton, KY (1850 CENSUS DATA ENTRY
